the ultimate registry: health & safety.
It’s time, friends – today is the last installment of The Ultimate Baby Registry! I’m so thrilled you came along for the ride; your recommendations have been tremendously helpful. We’re rounding out the series with Health & Safety today, so spill your must-haves in the comment section. And if you’ve missed Parts 1-5, you can find them all right here. Here we go – real mothers’ top picks for baby’s health & safety!:
1. DISH SOAP
For handwashing baby bottles (and more!), baby-safe dish soap is a great idea. BabyGanics natural dish soap received great reviews for its all-natural ingredients.
2. SAFETY KIT
A health and safety kit might not have the highest quality of baby products included (nasal aspirators, thermometers and nail clippers are two items I’d invest in), but it’s great to have everything on hand until you find out what works great for you and baby – and what you truly use.
3. LAUNDRY DETERGENT
For baby’s sensitive skin, a special laundry detergent is in order. I love Mrs. Meyer’s Baby Blossom laundry detergent for its fresh scent and gentle ingredients.
4. BABY THERMOMETER
A rectal thermometer generally gives the most accurate reading for babies, so it’s a definite bonus to include on your registry.
5. GAS RELIEF DROPS
Babies are prone to swallowing lots of air, which can lead to an upset stomach. Gas relief drops are a must for a well-stocked medicine cabinet!
6. NOSE DROPS
Saline spray/drops are great for babies who might be prone to allergies or stuffy noses. A great idea to have on hand when traveling or during seasonal changes in weather.
7. BABY-PROOFING NEEDS
Cabinet locks and outlet plugs
won’t be needed for a few months, but they’re nice to have on hand a bit early. Time flies, right?
8. DISH DETERGENT
Baby-safe dish detergent is a good idea if you plan to machine wash those bottles, nipples, teethers and more. Again, I like BabyGanics dish washer detergent because it’s organic with all-natural ingredients.
9. BABY MONITOR
We’re actually using a hand-me-down monitor from years ago, but for an affordable, high-quality model, try Angelcare’s baby sound monitor. The screen is digital and transmission is super clear so you can lay your worries to rest. (Lord knows we’ll need all the rest we can get, right?)
10. FEVER REDUCER
When baby is sick, the last thing you want is to take a trip to the drugstore. HaveĀ fever reducer infant drops on hand for those just-in-case moments.
11. ANTIHISTAMINE
Another just-in-case medication to keep on hand, Benadryl syrup is great for seasonal allergy relief.
Anything I missed, friends? Please share below, and thanks again for your amazing recommendations so far! We’ve definitely created The Ultimate Baby Registry over the past few weeks!

The babyganics items you featured are great but one key item that I swear by is their stain remover! It gets out everything- especially diaper leakage!
great company, amazing products! Also the mrs. Meyers baby blossom sent is the loveliest! Good picks!
Oh SOOOOO smart, Haley – thank you!!!
A nasal aspirators is a MUST!! my friends all used the NoseFrida nasal aspirator and they all love it. When my daughter was small I didn’t know about it and we struggled with the regular nasal aspirator.
I’ve heard great things about NosaFrida – thank you!!!
Does that thermometer work on arm pits too? It’s hard enough to take an arm pit reading let alone actually going for a rectal reading. (This will be one of those, “I get it now!” understandings in a few months. Ha!) I don’t think I could ever be brave enough to take a reading that way. Perhaps someone will chime in saying it’s not hard to do…
HA – good call, Betsy! I just kept hearing how rectal thermometers get better readings, but now that I’m thinking it through…….
We have that monitor and we LOVE it! Ours came with a sensor pad that our daughter lays on and it beeps if she stops moving or breathing. Sometimes I think it would be nice if we had a video monitor, but we do have a lot of peace of mind with the one we have.
I’d also add Boogie Wipes to the list. At 4 months, we’re lucky that Rooney has not gotten really sick yet, but she did have a cold a couple months ago. The Boogie Wipes were perfect at clearing that up!
SO smart! thank you!
